Her surgery is now scheduled for Monday.
With regards to the announcement Wednesday night concerning Wesley DuBose (Judy Freeman’s dad) who has been diagnosed with lung cancer. After further consultation with the doctor and due to Mr. DuBose’s age and other medical problems, no treatment will be done on his behalf at this time. He is a resident of Nexion Mount Pleasant Healthcare. Please continue to remember him in your prayers. Judy and Rhodney would like to thank each one of you for all the prayers and words of concern.

Some More Funny Stuff
I used to be a waiter, but I was fired for clearing tables. I was clearing them for take off. I had them all lined up outside. People thought it was an outdoor cafe. I said, "No, these are leaving at 3." They were going to fire me anyway, because I told them I thought they should put the wrapper on the inside of the straw since that's the part you don't want to get dirty.
Years ago, I worked in a natural, organic health food store in Dallas, Texas. One day a man walked in and asked, "If I can melt dry ice? Can I swim without getting wet?" Two days later I was fired for eating cotton candy and drinking straight Bosco on the job.
I was in the grocery store. I saw a sign that said "pet supplies." So I did. Then I went outside and saw a sign that said "compact cars"...
Consecrated to the Lord’s Service
By Kris Groda
“Consecrated” means to be set apart, made holy and dedicated to something. Admittedly, the term may not be as familiar because we don’t use it in common, every day language. However, our character should reflect that concept in common, every day life.
There are many references to consecration in the Old Testament. During King Hezekiah’s reign, temple worship was restored and the people of God had to be restored too. To make their offering acceptable, the priests (Levites) made a sin offering and made atonement for all of Israel. The whole assembly worshiped as that initial sin offering was consumed. It was after that that Hezekiah said, “You have now consecrated yourselves to the Lord. Come near, bring sacrifices and thank offerings to the house of the Lord”(2 Chron. 29:31).
Being consecrated was essential if your work or offering was to be accepted by God. One time, King Uzziah tried to burn incense unto the Lord. But that was the job of the priests, ’the sons of Aaron, that were consecrated to burn incense’ (2 Chron. 26:18).
Not only were the Levitical priests consecrated to their office (Exodus 28:41; 29:9; Numbers 3:3), the objects used in Old Testament worship with the gold and silver and all that was brought to the treasury was consecrated (Josh 6:19). Even their garments were very important. In fact, there was a consecration process that involved taking , “part of the blood that is on the altar and of the anointing oil and sprinkle it on Aaron and his garments, and on his sons and his sons’ garments with him. He and his garments shall be holy, and his sons and his son’s garments with him” (Exo. 29:21; Exo 40:12-15).
There is, of course, an antitype application for Christians. Remember, all Christians are priests in a holy and royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:5; 2:9). As such we have an apparel, but it is spiritual. We don ourselves with the whole armor of God (Eph 6:10-17). We are to wear the white raiment of righteousness. Jesus told the church in Laodicea, “I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and [that] the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see” (Rev. 3:18). Jesus commended some in Sardis saying, “Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy” (Rev 3:4).
Paul wrote that the grace of God teaches us to deny “ungodliness and worldly lusts... live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works” (Titus 2:11-14). Friends, this is the consecrated life, a life of righteousness and service to the King.
David had a real affection for a temple that he would never see. He provided the wood, precious metals, and stones for the temple. His question: “And who [then] is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the LORD?” (1 Chron. 29:5).
Let us be challenged to live the words of Frances Havergal in his song, “ Take my life and let it be, consecrated Lord to thee....Take my self and I will be, ever, only, all for Thee!” A-men.
