Everyone is Invited to a fellowship gathering at the home of David & Janice McCain (414 Dogwood Lane, 2nd house west of Florey, on south side of Dogwood), after services this Sunday evening, March 30th. We will have hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, & dips, and Michael Light will be our special guest. After we eat, we will have an old fashioned Gospel singing. Please bring either your favorite 2-Liter soft drink, or a dessert. Janice and David will provide everything else.
Attention all VBS Teachers & Helpers – We will have our first planning meeting for this summer’s Vacation Bible School, next Sunday afternoon, April 6th, at 5:00 pm, before the evening service. We will be deciding on the dates and theme for this year’s school, and will begin making teacher, helper, craft, and refreshment assignments. Everyone who wants to help with this year’s school should make every effort to attend this meeting. If you cannot make the meeting, but intend to help with the school, please let either David or Janice McCain, know before the meeting so that you can be added to the workers list.
In conjunction with our Spring Gospel Meeting, please remember the spiritual edification opportunities that are yours this week. Please attend every evening service of our meeting with Michael Light, tonight at 6:00 pm, and Mon. – Wed. evenings at 7:00 pm. Also, men don’t forget the Dutch-treat, Men’s Devotional Luncheon, with Michael Light speaking, tomorrow, Monday, March 31st, at noon, at the Western Sizzlin’ Steakhouse here in Mt. Pleasant. On Tuesday morning, April 1st, both ladies and gentlemen are invited to the 10:00 am Ladies Bible Class service, that Michael will be teaching, which will be followed by a luncheon of fried chicken, ham, and all the trimmings provided by the ladies class and all who attend.
Don’t forget the Area Wide Singing next Saturday evening, April 5th, at 7:00 pm, at the Lord’s church in Mt. Vernon. If you would like to carpool with others, please meet at our building at 6:30, and we will “save some gas” by taking only the number of cars needed to transport everyone who attends. Let’s have a good group to go and support this effort!
Mark your calendars for 7:00 o’clock, Monday evening, June 2nd, when we will be kicking off our 6th Annual Summer Youth Bible Series of North East Texas (SYBSNET), here at North Jefferson. Tyler Young from Roanoke, TX will be our very special guest speaker that evening, on a theme and topic that is still to be decided at the first planning session for the 2008 Summer Series. Bob Hedges will be planning a hamburger and hotdog supper for that evening, so if you would like to help him with that be sure and let him know in the next few weeks.
We are just a little over two weeks away from the final gathering of the 2007/2008 charter season of our Churches of Christ Bible Bowl of North East Texas (BBNET), scheduled for Monday evening, April 14th, at 7:00 pm. The last test will be given over Matthew 25-28, and the normal ribbon awards will be presented for that night’s testing. Also, some beautiful award plaques will be handed out to commemorate the overall team standings for the 2007/2008 charter season. Our team members are encouraged to study hard and prepare themselves to do their best on the final exam. Also, every member of North Jefferson is encouraged to attend in order to encourage our team and to hear the fine lessons that are presented at each month’s gathering. We now have a total of 8 congregations participating in our Bible Bowl, and we are hoping that even more will participate when we crank up the 2008/2009 season this coming October.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER:
Michael Light grew up here in Mount Pleasant. He was educated in Austin and San Marcus Universities before deciding to preach, and attending the Southwest School of Bible & Preaching in Austin. He is currently in his 13th year of serving as the evangelist for the Lord’s church in Bangs, Texas. Each summer he directs two sessions at the Cisco Bible Camp. He and his wife Carrie have 4 children, ages 11, 9, 7, & 4. Michael Light is known and loved by this congregation and widely respected across our great brotherhood for his thorough Bible knowledge, his keen wit, his dynamic preaching style, and his winsome personality. You will not want to miss a single lesson, but rather are encouraged to be present for every session of this wonderful gospel endeavor.
