THANK YOU."I love and appreciate each one of you more than I have words to express.  Your prayers, phone calls, flowers, cards and visits keep me going.  I love you very much."
---Ola Mae Simpson

THANK YOU."The family of Wanda Talley acknowledges with grateful appreciation the kind expression of your sympathy. We appreciate the beautiful Pink Azalea.  It made her girls and grandchildren happy that you cared.  I could never make it through such difficult times without my family at North Jefferson. WHAT DOES "V.B.S." MEAN?

1.  It means Vacation Bible School.

VACATION because it will be during the vacation time for children.  Usually the biggest vacation problem for children is to know what to do with all the leisure time they suddenly possess.  We will fill their mornings with profitable pleasure.

BIBLE because the textbook will be the world's best loved and most interesting book, the "Best Seller."  Too little time is spent during the year in teaching the Bible to our boys and girls.  Here is an opportunity for a daily systematic study of the word of God.

SCHOOL because it is just that.  The time will not be wasted, for children will learn, and under vastly different conditions from those to which they are accustomed.  The subjects of study will also include handwork and surprises, so that even the youngest child need not become tired.

2.  It means Valuable Bible Study..

A study of God's word that will help to enhance the good and offset the bad that is learned elsewhere.  It is also valuable because it is the only Bible training that some students will receive during the year.

3.  It means Very Busy Schedule..

You'll find that it is one of the most tiring activities you'll encounter in the kingdom of God.  You'll also find that it's a good kind of tired as you reflect on the good that you have been allowed to have a part in.

4.  It means Very Best Service..

A time when teachers and students alike are called upon to give their very best.  We are engaged in a serious business, handling matters that are divine and eternal.  It is a sin to do less than that which we are capable of.

5.  It means Valid Belief Shared..

At a time when the denominational world is content to share only subjective experiences in a carnival atmosphere, we are granted the distinct privilege of sharing beliefs that have their validity proven by the Scriptures.
