VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL IS UPON US!!
After much prayer and preparation by many people, North Jefferson's first Vacation Bible School is set to begin tomorrow morning at 9 AM. Hopefully, those of you with children up to the age of having just completed the sixth grade have made plans to bring them here to enjoy the opportunity to learn about the great Friend we have in Jesus. For those who have questions regarding transportation to and from VBS, please contact brother Gene Campbell.
There is no better way a child can spend his or her first week of summer vacation than to attend North Jefferson's Vacation Bible School. This is not simply a week where parents are provided free babysittingThis is far greater than that. Material will be presented in a fun and interesting way, but no trace of the unscriptural and irreverent approaches of the denominations to their Vacation "Bible" Schools will be seen here. The material examined will be biblical, as will be the method employed. Children will be taught respect for God, His word, and His worship in an enjoyable way.
Attending North Jefferson's Vacation Bible School will help to offset worldly influences. The world has always been . . . well, worldly. However, it is evident that biblical vestiges have greatly diminished from public view. The world has become so focused upon serving itself that a homogenized religion (Judeo-Christian-Islamic-Buddhist-Taoist-Confucianist-Atheistic-Agnostic-New Age-ism) which has no basis on the Bible has developed as the established religion. Children are being bombarded from a young age with humanistic philosophies such as "the universe was created by dirt," "one religion is as good as another," and such like. Children who watch much television are often inundated with sensual images promoting a lascivious and godless lifestyle. In Vacation Bible School, children are afforded the opportunity to focus upon spiritual matters, and develop the type of thinking which will build character and help them to form the proper perspective on life; to "set their affection on things above, not on things on the earth." Children will have plenty of time during the summer to play and enjoy recreational activities, but they can have a good time beginning the summer focusing the mind upon spiritual matters.
For those who have not yet made plans to attend Vacation Bible School at North Jefferson, we encourage you to make those plans now. Invite friends and neighbors who are in the age range to attend. The sessions will run from 9 until 11 AM Monday through Friday. Many people have put in many hours to ensure that North Jefferson's VBS will be of the highest caliber. This week will make an impression that will have an effect far longer-lasting than the duration of VBS itself. This is a time to prepare children for lives of service and devotion to Christ. Please pray that the Lord will bless our efforts and the children this week.
